P&A Magazine Web Design & Development

P&A Magazine contracted Wildcat Digital to design and develop their new online eMagazine which is dedicated to the interests and concerns of providers and administrators of automotive finance and insurance products. P&A Magazine’s mission is to assist providers and administrator professionals in making the right decisions for their businesses by delivering ideas, information and inspiration for success. Since the website would be serving as an online eMagazine, using WordPress as a CMS made perfect sense. The magazine is set up to feature five separate categories: A View from the Top, Guest Editorial, Industry, Actuary, Inspection and Software and Technology. Along with these five categories, the website also provides automotive industry news for its users. The news is broken up into general automotive news, and a section for news specifically relating to the P&A industry. Showcasing each month’s new features was an important aspect for the magazine, so Wildcat Digital designed the home page to feature a rotating featured slider.

Another aspect that the eMagazine wanted to incorporate was a video showcase referred to as P&A TV. The home page features a monthly video dedicated to a company, product or seminar related to the providers and administrator’s industry. For revenue purposes, P&A Magazine also needed a robust ad management system to allow the sales team to sell web banners in specific locations on the site. Wildcat Digital developed a system to display ads in their necessary position that allowed sales reps to sell banners based on both archive and single template positions. Pages are also available for unique banner placements.

In order to provide useful insight and information to its readers P&A Magazine also required a platform for a monthly survey. After researching external polling solutions like PollDaddy, Wildcat Digital opted to build the polls directly into the website. As part of a monthly maintenance agreement, Wildcat Digital collects the poll data for current surveys, and also provides final data to past survey results.

Finally, for one of the most important aspects of the website, P&A Magazine also contracted Wildcat Digital to design and develop its monthly eMagazine and eNewsletter. In order to cut back on monthly expenses, Wildcat Digital suggested that P&A Magazine utilize a free, but very flexible, open source email campaign manager, PHPList.

Unique Feature

While there are many features on the website that are unique, one that stands out is P&A’s Company Directory. The eMagazine wanted a way to showcase automotive companies related to the providers and administrator’s field, but also provide a way to highlight companies that wanted to pay for an enhanced company listing. Wildcat Digital designed a directory to provide basic information for companies, while merging in extra information, and an entire page dedicated to those companies with an enhanced listing. The enhanced listing allows companies to showcase their logo, provide a detailed written description of their business, display a company video if they have one and incorporate a skyscraper banner in the sidebar. Along with this extra information, the company also receives a contact form in order to collect additional sales leads.
