Corporate Identity
If you are looking to create an identity for your company I would be very happy to assist you. Unlike many of the logo mills that are out there I will not put a cap on how many revisions that you have available. Many companies offer inexpensive services that initially sound great, but you get what you pay for. These mills only give you a couple revisions, and if you aren’t happy with the logo by the final revision you’re either out of luck or you need to pay for additional designs. Branding your company, and developing your identity, is incredibly important, and you therefore shouldn’t be rushed or only given a few options. You deserve the opportunity to re-work your design until it’s done right and to your satisfaction.

Project Profile
When I was first approached by Lisa to design the logo for Cat Head Biscuit I was instantly intrigued by their name, their services and their unique design ideas. As a small editorial company in Los Angeles, Cat Head Biscuit is involved in a lot of live concert work, DVDs, film effects, etc. With their Southern heritage the company name came about during a conversation about their grandmothers’ delicious biscuits made with a lot of lard and buttermilk. I’m told they are very good with butter and Jim Beam.
They were very open to exploring either a cat or a biscuit--although they were leaning towards a cat since, as Lisa told me, “biscuits aren’t that sexy or cool”. They did ask me to give the biscuit a try. Stan had worked on Pee Wee's Playhouse years ago, and they were interested in a "golden biscuit with those lines around it like it's all shiny...it's so magical, it talks!"
While the biscuit was definitely funny, it is true that it wasn't very sexy, so I spent more time exploring the cat. The owner, Stan, mentioned his interest in a gangster font so I produced the comps below.
Lisa was very drawn to the works of Shepard Fairey, particularly his political icon art, and Stan was interested in exploring a World War II military style. With these ideas I produced the following comp that finally led to their final logo.
